The truck-based 2025 Chevy Tahoe is a full-size SUV with plenty of passenger space inside, prime towing power, and a refined chassis for superior handling. With such impressive performance and capability, it’s easy to see why JD Power ranked it number one for New Vehicle Quality among large SUVs for the third year in a row.
Full-Size Excellence: The 2025 Chevy Tahoe
2025 Tahoe Basics
The 2025 Tahoe is available in six trim levels: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country, all of which feature three rows of spacious seating for up to nine people. The base 5.3-liter V8 engine makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the 6.2-liter version boasts an output of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and comes standard on the High Country trim. A turbo diesel engine is also available for 305 hp and 495 lb-ft.
All engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear- or all-wheel drive, and the off-road-focused Z71 features a two-speed transfer case for traditional four-wheel drive.
Updated Features
Minor style updates keep the Tahoe fresh for 2025. Inside, the dashboard has been revised with a standard 11-inch fully digital gauge cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment display. There’s new standard and optional trailering technology, and the suspension has been tuned for an even more comfortable ride. The new available wheel options include 24-inch designs, which are the largest wheels to ever be mounted on the Tahoe.
Towing Capability
To get the maximum towing capacity of 8,400 lbs, you’ll need a Tahoe with the base engine and rear-wheel drive. The transmission includes a Traction Select System with Tow/Haul for a smoother hauling experience, and trailer sway control monitors the steering input and helps prevent swaying by automatically applying the trailer brakes. The Tahoe also comes with a trailering hitch platform, a 2.0-inch trailering receiver, and a seven-wire electrical harness with a seven-pin connector.
Available trailering technologies include the new Trailer Tire Health feature, which monitors the life of your trailer’s tires, and Trailer Navigation uses Google Maps to help calculate routes based on the size of your trailer.
Versatile Seating and Cargo Space
There’s standard seating for eight in the base Tahoe configuration, but an optional front bench seat enables the maximum nine-person capacity, and the second-row bench can be swapped for captain’s chairs. You’ll have 25.5 cubic feet of space to stow cargo behind the third row, 72.5 cubes behind the second row, and a massive 122.5 cubic feet with all rear seats folded.
If you need your next SUV to seat as many people as possible with room for cargo and the capability to haul heavy loads, the 2025 Tahoe is a top choice. To explore its capability for yourself during a test drive, head over to Navarre Chevrolet in Lake Charles, LA!
