Chevy isn’t a stranger to electric pickups, having introduced the S-10 Electric in 1997. At the time, this pickup was the world’s first electric pickup truck and a strong testament to Chevy’s forward-thinking approach. Fast forward to today, and the automaker is charging ahead with theĀ 2025 Chevy Silverado EV, a truck that’s all about uncompromising capability and comfort. The future they once glimpsed? Well, it’s here, and it’s hauling heavy.

Range and Charging

Throw range anxiety out of the window because the Silverado EV offers a minimum of 390 miles (on the RST model) and a maximum of nearly 500 miles available on the base trim WT. In contrast, the Ford Lighting Extended Range tops out at just 320 miles. So, while others are still trying to figure out how to make it to the next station, the Silverado EV is already cruising past.

To meet your charging needs, Chevy has got you covered with fast-charging capabilities that can add up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For home or office charging, you can use a Level 1 charger that adds up to 4 miles of range per hour or a Level 2 charger that fully recharges your truck overnight.

Power and Performance

Underneath the good-looking exterior lies GM’s Ultium platform, a cutting-edge foundation featuring a massive 205 kWh and two electric motors, one on each axle. Combined, they produce up to 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque when Wide Watts Open mode is activated.

With this mode engaged, the Silverado EV can blast from 0 to 60 in under 4.5 seconds, making it faster than you’d expect from a vehicle built to work hard. And work it does. For instance, the mid-trim Silverado EV, the LT, can tow up to 12,500 pounds and haul a payload of 1,800 pounds.

Utility

The Silverado EV comes with a standard 5’11” bed, but if you need more room, you can opt for the 60/40 split-folding seats to fit items up to 9 feet long or the Multi-Flex Midgate with pass-through, which opens space for items up to 10’11”. In the front, you’ve got even more storage with a spacious 17.4 cu-ft trunk.

Cabin

No matter where you sit, the Silverado EV makes sure you’re comfortable and connected. Standard and optional features include a spacious rear interior (that almost feels like 3/4 ton), premium materials, a 17.7-inch touchscreen display, an 11.1-inch gauge cluster, a panoramic roof, and a 14-inch head-up display. All in all, this truck delivers a first-class experience.
